Left Bimbi Park and saw a Kangeroo or two!!!

Sunday
We left Bimbi Park and headed for the Otway Light Station which wasn’t far away, had a good walk around the grounds and went up to the top of the lighthouse, the views from the top were magnificent, the weather was a bit windier and cooler but was still nice.
We then decided to drive towards Torquay and Geelong but call in at Bells Beach which is a famous surfing beach in the area.
I had only just said to Al “all we need know to finish the day is to see a Kangeroo or better still, a Kangaroo on a surf board” when we turned a corner and a huge Kangeroos was stood at the side of the road watching us, didn’t realise how bloody big they are!
We pulled over thinking it would have hopped off but it was still there, Al made some skippy like noises and it reared up with its ears twitching, loads of pics later, it eventually hopped off. We were dead chuffed that we could now add seeing a Kangeroo to our list.
We visited Bells Beach and as it was dusk time then decided to push on to Geelong even though we hasn’t booked a campsite. I was again forced to pull over as to our left was a field full of Kangeroos, all shapes and sizes in small and large groups all over the place, they were a bit far off but still got loads of pics.
We arrived in Geelong, found a campsite but the booking in office was closed, so naturally, we parked up descreetly and settled down for the night, then left before anyone was about!
Monday
We returned the van, got a taxi to the YHA that we had booked and within half an hour was having drinkies on the roof terrace. We then went into Melbourne on the tram, you were supposed to get some sort of Oyster card type thingy that they have just introduced but we just pleaded ignorance and got a free ride in.
Melbourne looks a lovely place but we would need more time to appreciate it so decided to head for the Chinese Quatre and had a lovely meal.
To round up the day, we headed back to the roof terrace with water bottles full of b&c and w&c’s to chill for a while.
Tuesday
Up early, washed and changed and got the bus to Avalon Airport, bit like Albatross Airways but tattier!
It’s now 08.35 and our plane to Sydney leaves at 09.10 where our Sheena’s, Milly and little Ena are meeting us (bless their cottons)
Now up to date as Sheena, Milly and Ena picked us up and we spent the rest of the day not going out (40+ degree and bush fires—– but not near us Kee!)
We played with Millie, watched some old family videos, ate Timtams, it was brill, Al and Dan just nipped out for a takeaway.
Not due to get to the airport until late afternoon tomorrow but as Dan at work plan to have a lovely last day with the girls x x x
